About FASCICLE


The FASCICLE project is integrated into the regional program BIO-ASIA, which is a French cooperation initiative seeking to create and reinforce, on a mutual benefit basis, high level collaborations and networking with Asian scientific communities in the field of natural substances, from the study of biodiversity to the development by sustainable uses of natural substances in health, nutrition, agronomy, cosmetics or renewable energies (biotechnology).

The program is implemented by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEE) and the science and technology section of the French embassies in Asia in partnership with :
  • french higher education and research institutions involved in the program, including CNRS, CIRAD, IFREMER, IRD, INSERM, the Pasteur Institute, MNHN, and the INRA
  • the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR)
  • the Ministry od Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing; the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Health; the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rural Affaires and Town and Country Planning; and the ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry
The program is aimed at projects involving France and the ten countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Far East, and South Asia.

The FASCICLE project was among the 7 projects selected for funding by the steering committee over the 29 proposals received from the second call for proposals (2009/2010).
