French Asian Study on global Change effects through
Inter-site Comparison of Limnic Ecosystems

The FASCICLE project aims to conduct inter-site comparisons of ecological responses from contrasted continental aquatic ecosystems to global changes through the application of an innovative approach combining various data analysis methods. The meta-analysis techniques and the numerical approaches developed by some teams involved in the consortium together with the expertise of other teams in the functioning of the freshwater ecosystems represent the originality of the project. The project is a necessary step to build a larger network to reinforce the collaboration between France (and Europe) and Asia in the domain of the consequences of global changes on limnic ecosystems (and more generally in aquatic ecosystems).

Consortium
The consortium includes 8 partners comprising european and asian research institutes.

Project duration
The FASCICLE project will be conducted during its first phase between 2011 and 2013.

Coordinator

This collaborative research project received funding from the French ministry of foreign affairs, the French ministry of education under the Theme “Biodiversity, ecology and conservation of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems” of the second Bio-Asia Program.Additional funding to this project are provided by CNRS, INRA and university of Lille 1 (France) and all international partners.
